We love discovering and getting to know producers around the world, seeing what drives them and what products they enjoy creating. In support of the makers we work with, we have decided to celebrate their talent by featuring a different maker each month.
Our Maker of The Month blog highlights an exceptional maker to help you learn more about them and their produce.
But, we couldn’t start that without telling you a little bit about us first…
We are proud to be producers ourselves and recently became part of the Ambrosi Group. This year we celebrated our One Year Anniversary as part of Ambrosi S.P.A.
Ambrosi S.P.A was founded by Ottorino Ambrosi in 1942, originally focusing on the production of butter and cheese distribution. In the 1950s, with the creation of the ‘Protected Designation of Origin’ of Parmigiano and Grana Padano, Ottorino Ambrosi concentrated on the aging and selling of these cheeses that would come to represent the best of Italy and become iconic across the world.
Since 1991, Ottorino’s son Giuseppe has further developed the business and Ambrosi is now a market leader in premium specialty cheeses in Italy and has achieved global success in over 60 countries. It boasts a wide range of traditional dairy products: Grana Padano Riserva, Aged Parmigiano Reggiano DOP, Gorgonzola DOP, Taleggio DOP, butter and Organic Cheeses.
The headquarters house the dairy, production and maturation rooms and are based in Lombardy in Northern Italy. There is also another dairy which produces the award-winning Parmigiano Reggiano and other several sites across Italy and internationally.
Ambrosi’s drive for quality has evolved over the years, and the company has researched and developed methods for preserving the best possible flavours and other organoleptic properties of the cheeses.
The quality of milk, the production and aging of traditional Italian cheeses to award winning standards are of paramount importance.
